- Tooth decay and gum disease should be treated.
- Decayed teeth which are impacted and where the decay is in the root should be pulled out.
- All of the surfaces of teeth and the back of the tongue should be well brushed.
- If xerostomia exists, its cause should be discovered and eliminated.
- Patients should give up alcohol and smoking.
If you still have xerostomia after the operation, other reasons should be researched.
